How It Works

Guide books with all of the information and maps about the beats in the scheme, and the tokens are available from the offices of the Eden Rivers Trust, Appleby TIC, Carlisle TIC and John Norris of Penrith.

So what do you do?

  1. Get the Guide Book.
  2. Buy some tokens.
  3. Choose where you would like to fish from the Guide Book.
  4. Post the required amount of tokens in the Beat Box before you fish.
  5. Fish.
  6. Complete the Catch Return and Angler Survey Form and post in the Beat Box.
  7. Find somebody to boast to.

The landowner empties the box of tokens and exchanges them for cash with the Eden Rivers Trust.

Tokens are available in books of 4
for £10 or books of 10 for £25.

PLEASE NOTE
You need an Environment Agency Rod Licence to fish these beats. Visit  http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/fish/ or call in the Post Office.

Catch and Release
All of the fishing in the scheme is at present catch and release fishing to preserve native stocks.
