Beat 27

Wet Sleddale Reservoir
3 Tokens
Brown Trout
No Wading
Open: July, August and September
Restrictions: No dogs

STOCKS: There’s a healthy stock of wild brownies in the reservoir, which should provide good sport for the day. Brown trout up to 12” and in good numbers have been caught recently.

ACCESS & DIRECTIONS: From Penrith head south along the A6. Approximately 1.5km south of Shap there is a right hand turn towards Wet Sleddale Reservoir. Take this small turn and follow the road for 1km or so, then take the next left hand turn down a small track towards the reservoir itself. With the dam directly in view follow the road as it heads left and park in the car park at the top of the hill.

The fishing is exclusively on the right bank of the reservoir (the same side as the car park). Go through the small gate in the fence line next to the reservoir, the beat box is just to the right hand side, the fishing starts here and ends just before the head of the reservoir.
