4 Tokens
Grayling
16th October to 14th January
650m of left bank fishing

RIVER EDEN: This is an excellent section of the river Eden, which has fantastic Grayling fishing, perhaps some of the best in the region. This river is well fished for salmon and occasionally trout but the grayling are not frequently pursued.
As this part of the Eden has a large salmon fishery from February to October the beat will be closed for grayling at this time. During the rest of the season, over winter, which is often the best time of year for grayling, Go Wild will have fishing access to the beat.

STOCKS: Fishing here is restricted to Grayling, but there are large numbers of them, which often shoal. Plenty have been caught over the years, and this section has a particularly good run and riffle section just downstream of the island.

ACCESS & DIRECTIONS: Heading north along the M6 towards Carlisle, pull off onto junction 43 and take the right turn round the roundabout along the A69. Continue along this road for around 4km and just before you get to Warwick Bridge there’s a left turn to Warwick Hall, take this turn into the main courtyard. From here, past the house there is a track which turns right and runs through a few fields down to the river. Continue along this track for a few hundred yards, turn right at the fork and continue along the track towards the river. When you reach the bank follow the river downstream until you come across a cattle grid and open gateway into the next field. Beat 23 starts here, park by the Go Wild parking sign. The token box is also located on the gateway.

From here you can fish down stream or walk to bottom of the beat marked Beat Start and fish upwards. The riffle section just below the island is a particularly good area for grayling in low water and when the water is higher the near side of the island split is also a prime location.
