The Swindale Beck is one of the many becks draining the western flanks of the North Pennines, providing about one kilometre of double bank fishing.
The beck has some interesting pools, especially under the bridge. There are no overhanging trees, and whilst this might seem a good thing, do remember that trees provide great cover for stalking the fish.
If you can get a fish out of this beck without using explosives or electricity, they should make a bronze statue of you and site it at the end of The Mall.
